Niagara Escapement is excited to announce that we will be expanding our nerdy repertoire with Pokemon trading card game tournaments taking place during the week.
Our first tournament will take place at the end of next month, on Thursday July 20 and starts at 6:00pm.
If you've ever wanted to learn how to play the Pokémon card game we will also have a "learn to play Pokémon tcg" night on Thursday, July 6 in preparation for the tournament. Learn how to play with the host himself, get yourself some booster packs to build a deck - then come take battle your Pokémon in the tournament!
The how to play (July 6) event is completely free of charge
The tournament (July 20) has a $10 entry fee upon arrival. -$5 is added to the prize pool for every player, prizes are split amongst the 3 best players, with an additional elite trainer box to the winner in 50 minute best-of-3 swiss rounds. The number of rounds depends on the amount of players in the tournament.
We are assuming the tournament will last until about 10:00pm.
Drinks and snacks are available at our retail counter, you may not bring your own food with you. Players are welcome to bring water bottles with them. We are a licensed establishment and serve several local beers, ciders and seltzers.
